That depends on your pain tolerance. The impact from a paintball feels like getting "snapped" with a towel. For a lot of people, when their adrenaline is going, they don't even feel the impact. Paintballs may leave small circular welts on some people that will subside within 2-4 days.
The youngest age players can play is 12 years old with a parental signature. In the past we have let players that are younger play provided their parents are playing alongside them as well.
While everyone is different, the average player will play from 2-4 hours. We recommend to have at least 4 hours at the field. Remember Your entry fee is good all day, so fee free to play all day.
- How Many Paintballs do I need?
The average player will shoot about 100 paintballs every 2-3 games. Games last about 20 minutes each. Players can expect to shoot 200-400 paintballs in an average outing depending on how trigger-happy you are.
It is a good idea to wear thick loose fitting dark colored clothing and have shoes with good ankle support. A towel to wipe off paintballs and a change of clothes for the car ride home is a very good idea. Water and a snack are good items if you plan on playing for a while. Other things like bug spray and sunscreen in summer are also great ideas if you feel you require those items.
There are two reasons why you can't bring your own paintballs. The first part is insurance. Our insurance requires all players to purchase paintballs at our facility to ensure only quality, and certified paintballs are used on our fields. This rule helps to prevent people from bring old or stale paintballs from home and damaging our equipment or hurting other players... The second reason is to help pay for the field's upkeep. It costs a lot of money to build and maintian fields, pay referees, wash gear, fix and buy new equipment!

While you may see some flashy and tactical looking markers out in the hands of the players, just know that they all shoot the exact same speed. Paintballs are limited to a velocity of 300 fps no matter what the gun looks like. This means that even the most basic rental gun will shoot the same distance and at the same speed as any other marker on the field. The only difference with the "pro" markers is the rate of fire that they are capable of.
This is ABSOLUTELY FALSE!!! Anyone that told you they froze a paintball is telling you some tall tales. Paintball's are made of gelatin and vegetable oil. In order to fully freeze a paintball, you would need a freezer that went down to -40 which isnt practical for today's family. If you put a paintball in a normal freezer, all that will happen is the gelatin will become more brittle and break with far less force than before. (this is a tactic used by many of today's professional teams)
The paintball guns are powered by compressed air or co2 tanks. In these tanks is a compressed gas that provides the energy needed to drive the gun. When you press the trigger, the hammer strikes the guns valve open. This releases a short burst of gas that fires the paintball. The marker then uses the excess gas to reset itself so the entire process can begin again at the next trigger pull. The markers will fire until the tanks become completely empty.

Ambush does not offer coveralls because the paintballs we use are 100% washable, and we do not want to pass the massive costs of washing 100's of coveralls every night onto the customer. Our staff and players feel your paintball experience is better wearing your last years' jeans and sweatshirt, over some oversized stinky coveralls. We do offer camo jacket rentals upon request.

This is the number 1 complaint that we get from gun owners that don't know how to operate their equipment. Whether its regulated HPA or a simple co2 tank, the amount of air in the tank has NO EFFECT ON SPEED OR DISTANCE. (until the tank is literally empty) What this means is a half full tank will not perform any different from a completely full tank. The pressures that exist inside the tanks are so high, that they have to be empty before they start dropping lower than the pressure that the guns require.
No you do not have to be part of a team to attend speedball practices at ASP. Observe the practice schedule and show up during any regular drop in practice.
We buy most of our supplies for paintballgear! They are friends of ours and have a wicked store. If you haven't checked them out you really should?
